3 Nights osaka

extend your stay in any of the following destinations: |
Osaka is the working heart of Kansai. Famous for its down-to-earth citizens and hearty cuisine,
Osaka combines a few historical and cultural attractions with all the delights of a modern Japanese city.
Indeed, Osaka is surpassed only by Tokyo as a showcase of the Japanese urban phenomenon.
This isn’t to say that Osaka is an attractive city; almost bombed flat in WWII, it appears an endless expanse of concrete boxes punctuated by pachinko (pinball) parlours and elevated highways.
But the city somehow manages to rise above this and exert a peculiar charm. At night, Osaka really comes into its own;
this is when all those drab streets and alleys come alive with flashing neon, beckoning residents and travellers alike with promises of tasty food and good times.

Osaka Castle
A museum built in the shape of a castle, pretty enough from the outside, covers about two square kilometers with lots of green space, sport facilities, a multi-purpose arena (Osakajo Hall) and a shrine dedicated to Toyotomi Hideyoshi. The park is one of Osaka's most popular hanami spot during the cherry blossom season, which usually takes place in early April. |
Umeda Sky Building
The Umeda Sky Building is a spectacular high rise building in the Kita district of Osaka, near Osaka and Umeda Stations. It is also known as the "New Umeda City". The 173 meter tall building consists of two main towers which are connected with each other by the "Floating Garden Observatory" on the 39th floor. The observatory offers a great view of the city. |
Osaka Aquarium
Aka Kaiyukan is a spectacular aquarium. It introduces various forms of life inhabiting the Pacific Rim in a well organized and impressive way. Marine life is displayed in 15 tanks, representing a specific region of the Pacific Rim. The central tank, representing the Pacifc Ocean, is nine meters deep and home to a whale shark, the aquarium's big main attraction. |
Ryokuchi-koen
Open Air Museum of Old Farm houses, Ryokuchi- koen. In the park is a museum of a dozen old Edo period farmhouses, moved across country and lovingly reconstructed. Also on display are tools, furniture, and the like. You can go to Himeji-jo or the old palace in Kyoto and see how the rulers lived, but come down here to see how the people lived. |
Universal Studios
It is one of four Universal Studios theme parks. The park is similar to Universal Orlando Resort, since it contains many of the same rides. The park opened on March 31, 2001. 11 million guests entered Universal Studios Japan in its first year of operation, the fastest any park reached that milestone. |
