Featherbed
Knysna’s pretty estuary to the secluded Featherbed Nature Reserve, home to the blue duiker, Knysna Loerie and other exquisite feathered friends. From there, we take a 4x4 trailer ride to the summit, where the panoramic view of the Knysna Basin and way out to sea, is one for the memory banks…and photographers! Knysna’s renowned for its age-old, towering milkwood trees, and we amble through the cool forest, hugging the breathtaking coastline, and head for a sociable buffet lunch served under the gentle milkwoods. Now that’s what you’ll call a beautiful, soothing and most satisfying day. |
Tsitsikamma
Legendary 1000-year-old Outenique yellowwood tree, before breathing in the sensational coastal views of the adjacent Tsitsikamma Coastal Nature Reserve. Test your nerves at the world highest bungi jump – 216 metres And talking jumping, we’ve planned a visit to Monkeyland, sanctuary and home to numerous rare species of monkeys from around the world. Our day closes with a visit to one of South Africa’s most popular – and elite – holiday destinations, Plettenberg Bay. Addo & Schotia Safari
The Addo Elephant National Park is one of the great elephant parks of South Africa, and with four hours to traverse the beautiful terrain, you and your camera are assured of superlative elephant images. From there, an afternoon heading into evening tour of Schotia Private Game Reserve, guided by a professional game ranger in an open safari vehicle, a wilderness area renowned for their free-roaming lions. Dinner is safari al fresco, a true bush experience, with a hearty meal in an African lapa, lit only by lanterns and serenaded by sounds of the wild. Home will feel very tame. |
