Home to one of the larges and most influential ports in the US, The Port of Miami a.k.a The cruise capital of the world accomodes the largest cruise ships. The port is located on Dodge Island. The Seminole Hard Rock Casino, located in Hollywood, is the area's top casino. Coral Castle
Coral Castle is an engineering marvel consisting of over 1,100 tons of carved coral rock located in Homestead. Ed Leedskalnin built Coral Castle with his own two hands over an almost 30-year period in the 1950s. Visiting the castle is a marvelous experience. You truly cannot grasp the wonder of Ed's engineering accomplishment until you view the massive chunks of coral rock with your own eyes. Metro Zoo
Zoo Miami is fast becoming one of the best zoos in the nation. Its climate allows it to keep a wide variety of animals from Asia, Australia and Africa like no other zoo in the country. One of the first free-range zoos in the country, the exhibits are entirely cageless. Animals are grouped according to their geographic territory and animals that live together peacefully in the wild are placed in exhibits together. Other animals in the area are separated by moats. Looking out across the African plains, for example, you see the animals apparently co-mingling much as you would on a safari. The trees, foliage and even soil mimic as closely as possible the native habitat of the animals. The Samburu Giraffe Feeding Station allows you to climb up and see a giraffe eye-to-eye and feed these graceful creatures. Click for more. |
Seaquarium
The Miami Seaquarium is located right in the middle of the tourist area, on the causeway between downtown Miami and Key Biscayne. It's a fabulous stop where you can witness an outdoor aquarium experience that's only possible in our tropical climate. Be sure to budget enough time to spend at least half a day there! The Seaquarium also features exhibits of sea turtles, seals, sea lions, and our very own Florida Manatee. Any visit to the Miami Seaquarium should be timed to include the following must-see events: Trained dolphin show; Lolita the Killer Whale show; At least one feeding and trainer presentation. Jungle Island
Parrot Jungle offers visitors a fun, educational opportunity to get an up-close look at tropical birds in replicas of their natural habitats. The attraction routinely hosts field trips and offers frequent educational programs. Jungle Island is home to a large number of animals, including: Parrots (it used to be called Parrot Jungle!) Penguins Flamingos Macaws Cranes Condors Ligers (a cross between a lion and a tiger) Tigers Llamas Skunks Kangaroos Reptiles Orangutans Monkeys Baboons. Monkey Jungle
"Where the humans are caged and the monkeys run wild" - it's more than a catch-phrase. Monkey Jungle in southern Miami-Dade County is a truly unique park. While homo sapiens walk through carefully constructed wire pathways, many species of primates scamper above your head, swing through trees and interact with each other in ways difficult to observe in captivity. Keep your eyes open; you never know who's hanging around! Monkey Jungle was started in 1935 when Joseph DuMonds and his wife brought the first six monkeys to this 10-acre plot to observe them living in their natural habitat. The park is well-organized with three demonstrations, each highlighting one of the major areas of the park- the wild monkey swimming pool, the Orang Utans, and the Amazonian Rainforest. Gator Park
Although there are plenty of gators to see here, this attraction also includes several other wild animals. During the 30 minute wildlife show, visitors can see panthers and other exotic inhabitants of the Everglades. The bravest souls can also have themselves photographed with an alligator. But the high point of a trip to Gator Park is likely to be the airboat tour; Alligator Farm is located next to Everglades National Park; All tours include airboat rides, alligator show, and trail. Botanical Gardens
Miami Beach Botanical Garden, a 2.6 urban greenspace at the heart of South Beach, was transformed in 2011 with a $1.2 Million landscape renovation by Raymond Jungles. The new landscape showcases Florida native plants and trees, significant new water gardens, cascading fountains and a wetland with mangrove and pond apple trees, an expanded Great Lawn for social events, a welcoming entrance and event plaza, and enhanced lighting and pathways. Children's Museum
The Miami Children's Museum is a must-see destination. Their motto of "Play, Learn, Imagine, Create" shines through in the wide variety of interactive exhibits that allow children to explore everything from a supermarket to a television studio, picking up valuable lessons along the way. Santa's Forest
Santa's Enchanted Forest is the largest Christmas Theme Park in the world. The have rides, games, shows, a petting zoo, pony rides and more. The park is brightly lit up with a huge Christmas tree and millions of lights. The park is great to visit to get into the holiday spirit. his festive and fun Christmas extravaganza begins November 5, 2009 and runs through January 3, 2010 at Tropical Park. Bayfront Park
Bayfront Park is a 32-acre (13 ha) public, urban park in Downtown Miami, Florida on Biscayne Bay. Seven blocks north is Bayfront Park's partner park, the 30-acre Bicentennial Park. The Bayfront Park Amphitheater has a seating capacity of 10,000 people: 2,672 fixed benches and 7,328 in the lawn. Home to the famed Morikami Museum & The Japanese Gardens. Your children will love feeding the koi fish and turtles. Make sure to come with an appetite because the Cornell Cafe has a great selection of sushi and other traditional Japanese foods. One of the favorite parts of any museum has to be the gift shop! Vizcaya Museum
No visit to Miami is complete without a stop at the historical 50-acre Vizcaya estate. This European-style mansion offers a glimpse at life in turn-of-the-century South Florida. It's also an extremely popular venue for galas, weddings and other entertainment events. The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) is dedicated to making contemporary art accessible to diverse audiences – especially underserved populations – through the collection, preservation and exhibition of the best of contemporary art and its art historical influences. Science Mueum
Check out the latest kid-friendly exhibits at the Miami Museum of Science. The museum is home to the Bird of Prey Research Center and the Weintraub Observatory. Current exhibits include Music Musica, The Reclamation Project, Immersion Theatre, Newton's Notions, and 40 Tons of Coral in NYC. Erotic Art Museum
Opened in 2005 by then 70-year-old grandmother Naomi Wilzig, the museum features Wilzig's collection of more than 4,000 pieces of erotic art, including Kama Sutra temple carvings from India, peek-a-boo Victorian figurines that flash their booties, and a prop from the sexual thriller A Clockwork Orange. Florida Keys

Key Largo

Key West
At about 90 miles long it conjures up images of a tropical island with azure clear waters, adorned with white sands and Palm trees.
