Luna Island
This small island between the American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls has an awe-inspiring view of both Falls. t is approximately 130 feet wide and 350 feet long. Spectators can view the falls from Luna Island and the proximate Goat Island, both of which are accessible by pedestrian bridges that cross the rapids of the Niagara River upstream from the falls. The island is said to derive its name from the ability of an observer, when standing on the island during a full moon, to see "lunar rainbows" in the Niagara mist. |
Goat Island
Get in touch with nature on Goat Island while gaining access to the Cave of the Winds, Top of the Falls Restaurant, Three Sisters Islands, Terrapin Point, Luna Island and the Rapids! Goat Island has no residents, but is a popular destination for tourists visiting the falls. Largely wooded and interlaced with foot trails. The Cave of the Winds tour elevator provides access down to the foot of the falls. Home to the Tesla Monument which honors the Serbian-American inventor, Nikola Tesla. |
Niagara Falls State Park
Home to over 400 acres of lush landscape and wildlife, the Fredrick Law Olmsted designed park offers a breathtaking view of one of nature’s marvels and an experience that will last a lifetime. The State Park is open 365 days a year, 24-hours a day. You can walk through the park or take the Niagara Scenic Trolley ride. Observation Tower
The Prospect Point Park Observation Tower extends out dramatically over Niagara Gorge, the architectural wonder affords unobstructed views of the wild cascades of Niagara Falls, as well as the raging whitewater below. Elevators at the Observation Tower provide access to the base of the gorge and the boarding site for the Maid of the Mist boat tour. Bird watching is a popular pastime here with peregrine falcons, bald eagles and many gull species present in the Niagara Gorge. |

Cave of the Winds

Adventure Theatre
The air-conditioned Niagara Adventure Theater auditorium features stadium seating for 275 and is located at the Niagara Falls State Park Visitor Center. Aquarium of Niagara
Outside, the vibrant Whaling Wall created by famed environmental marine life artist Wyland gives a glimpse of the underwater world waiting inside the Aquarium of Niagara. More than 1,500 aquatic animals live at the Niagara Falls aquarium, representing ecosystems ranging from the Great Lakes to coral reefs. Highlights include over 40 exhibits starring California sea lions, Peruvian penguins, seahorses, sturgeon and more. An ocean of discovery to experience at another “wet wonder”. |
Niagara Gorge Discovery Center
Experience the Niagara Gorge Discovery Center, a showcase of the natural and local history of Niagara Falls and the surrounding area. The Discovery Center features miles of Niagara Falls hiking trails, plus hands-on interactive displays, a 180° multi-screen theater experience, and a towering rock climbing wall complete with fossils and geological formations. Niagara Wine Trail
Located along the lower river below the roaring waters of the Falls, is the Niagara Wine Trail. These wineries offer selections for all tastes. Herschell Carrousel Factory
A historic carousel factory building also a Museum. It was first open to the general public in 1983, with a full operational carousel from 1916. Different programs are offered, such as woodcarving of various skill levels, guided tours, and a summer lecture series. Special programs, such as Youth Volunteer Program and Neighborhood Partners Program are offered to young people and local elementary school children. Nearly 15,000 visitors experience the cultural focal center every year. |

Old Fort Niagara
Standing on a bluff above Lake Ontario not far from Niagara Falls, Old Fort Niagara has dominated the entrance to the Niagara River since 1726. Today Old Fort Niagara is a National Historic Landmark and Site that welcomes more than 100,000 visitors every year. Castellani Art Museum
The interpretive center at the Castellani Art Museum, “Freedom Crossing: The Underground Railroad in Greater Niagara,” tells the story of the Underground Railroad Movement in Buffalo Niagara—and of the people who risked their lives, all in the name of freedom. The exhibition includes historical documents, slave artifacts, videos, and photographs of activists, “safe houses,” and crossing sites. The Museum Shop is a good place to buy souvenirs. Tours are led by specially-trained docents. |
Seneca Niagara Casino
It is the largest hotel in New York outside of Manhattan the casino floor has an area of 147,000 sq ft (13,700 m2) with 99 gaming tables and 4,200 slot machines. Skylon Tower
The tallest structure in Niagara Falls located at Niagara’s hotel, dining, and entertainment district, steps away from the Falls and across the Niagara Fallsview Casino. The observation deck of the nearby Skylon Tower offers the highest overhead view of the falls. They offer a Ride-to-the-Top attraction aboard the glass-enclosed “Yellow Bug Elevators” and the Revolving Dining Room. Along with the Minolta Tower, it is one of two towers in Canada with a view of the falls. |
Botanical Garden
A few minutes drive away from Niagara Falls is the Niagara Parks Botanical Garden which features the Butterfly Conservatory. It is an indoor attraction where more than 2,000 butterflies fly freely in recreated tropical conditions. The conservatory also features educational displays and films. With over 2,000 free flying tropical butterflies in a lush rain forest setting complete with waterfalls and pools. Observe the numerous species as they flutter, soar and feed on nectar and pollen. |
Queen Victoria Park
Queen Victoria Park features manicured gardens, platforms offering spectacular views of both the American and Horseshoe Falls, and underground walkways leading into observation rooms which yield the illusion of being within the falling waters. The heart of Niagara Parks at the foot of Clifton Hill, blooming with life through most of the year. Contains a valuable collection of unique native and international plants and beautifully maintained gardens. |
Whirlpool Aero Car
The Whirlpool Aero Car or Spanish Aero Car, built in 1916 from a design by Spanish engineer Leonardo Torres y Quevedo, is a cable car which takes passengers over the Niagara Whirlpool on the Canadian side. The Aero Car is suspended on six interlocking steel cables, each of which is 25 mm (1 inch) in diameter. The Aero Car is suspended between two Canadian points, though it crosses the Canadian and American borders four times on a full trip. |
Journey Behind the Falls
Take a journey deep below and behind the heart of Niagara and stand in the mist where the mighty Horseshoe Falls tumbles from 13 storeys above! It consists of an observation platform and series of tunnels near the bottom of the Horseshoe Falls on the Canadian shore. The tunnels and platform can be reached by elevators from the street level entrance. The tour is unguided and visitors have the option of using radios to receive facts and information broadcast into the tunnels. |
Bird Kingdom
A world class tropical adventure, located in Niagara Falls, Ontario, is the largest free-flying indoor aviary in the world. More than 400 birds make their home in this multi-level rainforest setting nestled in a building which has housed some of the area’s top attractions of the past. A 40-foot waterfall, tropical plants, and hundreds of birds from around the world put on a show for the public. Many of the 80 species of birds living at Bird Kingdom are endangered or threatened in the wild. |
Indoor Aviary
A collection of saltwater fish, spiders, bats, snakes, skinks, and reptiles too, all of which make their home in the same tropical environment the birds flourish in. Casinos
There are two casinos on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls, the Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara. The former is situated in the Fallsview Tourist Area, alongside many of the area's hotels, whilst the latter is adjacent to Clifton Hill, on Falls Avenue, a major tourist promenade. There’s 95,000 square feet of gaming fun, action-packed floors of slots, and Blackjack, Caribbean Stud, Roulette and Poker to name a few. |
Incline Railways
The Falls Incline Railway originally known as the Horseshoe Falls Incline is a funicular railway is a quick and convenient link between the Fallsview Tourist area with Table Rock Centre. A one-minute trip transports you from the Fallsview attractions and hotels, including the Fallsview Casino Resort, to the Falls Parking Lot directly across from Table Rock Centre and the Canadian Horseshoe Falls. It's an example from the Golden Age of funiculars. |
Niagara Tower
It's the first of the modern observation towers built near the brink of the Falls. Located on the 25th floor, this deck features a panoramic view of the falls and Niagara River in addition to floor-to-ceiling windows treated with a non-glare finish designed to enhance photography. There are many historical photos and news articles about the construction of the tower mounted around the deck in addition to pay-per-use telescopes. |

Niagara Escarpment
A world biosphere, protected by UN mandate running from the Niagara Falls west to Hamilton then northward to Georgian Bay. It is covered by forest with high cliff views along the Bruce Trail bordering the western edge of the Greater Toronto Area, at its closest point about is about an 1/2 hour drive from the west. |
Niagara On The Lake
A beautiful small town, frequent destination daytrippers from Niagara Falls and a destination in its own right. The many wine tours of Niagara on the Lake are an excellent way to spend an afternoon. Several companies downtown offer the tours - it's not strictly necessary to book, and you might want to take a look at the offerings. |
Niagara Boulevard
The Niagara Parkway, formerly known as Niagara Boulevard, is a scenic road in the province of Ontario that travels on the Canadian side of the Niagara River from the town of Fort Erie to Niagara-on-the-Lake. The portion north of Table Rock in Niagara Falls is designated as an Ontario Scenic Highway. |
Whirlpool Jet Boat
Of course the combatants of the War of 1812 didn’t travel the mighty Niagara River on Whirlpool Jet Boats, but in this day and age you can retrace their historical journey as part of a Whirlpool Jet Boat Tour (WJBT). It’s a once in a life time opportunity to comfortably experience the “Mount Everest” of white water. |
