Stratosphere Tower
Jutting 1,149 feet into the Vegas skyline, it's the tallest freestanding observation tower in the United States and one of the most exciting attractions among Las Vegas resorts. Springs Preserve
Springs Preserve, a 180-acre cultural and historical attraction on the site of those springs, which dried up in 1962, aims to teach people about past and think about the future. The Springs Preserve is the premier place in Las Vegas to explore the valley's vibrant history through interactive science and nature exhibits, botanical gardens, hiking, trails, and live animal shows.The Preserve is home to entertainment, exhibits, galleries, trails and gardens that provide recreational and educational opportunities to visitors. The Natural Mojave Gallery features interactive exhibits that explore the geological history of the Mojave Desert and the formation of the Las Vegas Valley and the springs. Bodies
With a name like Bodies in Las Vegas, it's easy to assume you're going to a topless show. But Bodies…The Exhibition at the Luxor is even more revealing. Bodies will easily trump any science lab dissection you've done in school. With an intricate, 3-D vision of the human form, visitors get the chance to see real bodies, preserved along with their inner organs. The exhibit showcases 13 whole-body specimens from China and more than 260 organs and partial body specimens. There are nine rooms dedicated to different parts of the body, including the muscular, nervous, circulatory, respiratory and digestive systems. If you ever had the itch to become a crime scene investigator but never got a chance to test out your skills, this is your perfect opportunity. At CSI: The Experience at MGM Grand, you'll go through a series of steps that will get you thinking like a real investigator. See how science and critical thinking combine as you piece together the clues in one of three crime scene mysteries. Hoover Dam
Straddling the mighty Colorado River, considered to be the world’s largest dam and an engineering marvel at the time of its construction in the 1930s, Hoover Dam brings much-needed water and power to the Southwest. Lake Tahoe
The jewel of Nevada, it's the nation’s largest alpine lake, 22 by 12 miles of sparkling water surrounded by 72 miles of pristine shoreline. During the warm summer months, it’s a water-sports paradise. And when it snows, well, winter sports-enthusiasts think they’ve died and gone to heaven. The crystal clear lake is roughly divided into two shores, north and south. South shore is the lively side, with no end of stuff to do both in and out of the water. Virginia City
At its peak, it was a thriving, vibrant metropolis of 25,000 citizens. Silver and gold was buried deep beneath her. Pyramid Lake
Encompassing 125,000 acres, Pyramid Lake is one of the largest natural lakes in the state. The beautiful, mysterious Pyramid Lake is a fascinating historical wonder. The sight alone is staggering – a gigantic expanse of blue or gray, depending on the skies above, surrounded by unusual rock formations. Whether your visit to Pyramid Lake is prompted by the promise of great fishing, the allure of the warm, salty water, or simply to satisfy curiosity about the primitive lake, this is one Nevada wonder that simply shouldn’t be missed. Mesquite
With a warm desert climate and more than 300 days of sunshine a year, its the place to go. Take a day trip to Zion or Bryce. Located nearby, these two national parks offer breathtaking scenery and myriad of hiking trails. Valley of Fire State Park, only a short drive away, offers unique rock formations and stunning vistas. If you want to spend your quality time more centrally located, rent a mountain bike for a zoom along the foothill trails, take a guided nature tour to see area wildlife or try your hand at some target shooting. Reno, Tahoe
Reno's famous arch says it all: it is "The Biggest Little City in the World." Reno offers a multitude of experiences to enjoy, on par with many larger cities. Contrary to popular belief, Reno is not just a collection of casinos. The city has a thriving art community, a rich history and is home to terrain well-suited for many outdoor activities. The surrounding rivers are great for whitewater rafting, kayaking, fishing, swimming and tubing. Many take to the mountains to bike, hike, backpack, rock climb and go on horseback rides, ATV tours, back-country adventures and off-road experiences. Carson Valley

Death Valley
Jagged, rugged, severe, beautiful, sublime -- these are perfect descriptions of Death Valley National Park. 'Surprising' is also a good word for the greater Death Valley area. There are desiccated and colorful desert vistas everywhere. Geological history is on full display. But there are also lush pockets of green plant life, Old West remnants and funky contemporary enclaves in this bigger-than-big wonderland. Enjoy the extraordinary, spectacular Mojave Desert scenery. Cruising the Strip is required for any first-timer. As you cruise, check out the signs for the Cirque du Soleil shows. There's so much to do in Vegas besides gaming, but if this is your first time in town, you almost have to play a little.
